Spring Style JournalStyle it the Sunisha way
To a designer, everyday is a runway. A vast expanse of imagination, creativity and freedom of expression. I love knowing that somewhere, someone might be catching a glimpse of one of our handbags on the arms of a passerby. It might be the flash of color, it might be the unique style. Whatever makes their heads turn, it makes our heads giddy. And even better is when our passion for design helps towards charitable causes. On February 21st, Sunisha Designs was on the arms of Jacksonville's best representatives of fashion at Children's Home Society's Annual Hope for Design Fashion Show, now in it's fourth year. Rosenblum's, Jaffi's, Kyds and CAbi's outfits were effortlessly accessoried with our handbags in everything from tote bags to clutch purses and evening bags to vintage handbags. If you missed the show, enter our
Style Gallery and see what we're talking about! And no, my outfit and host, Staci Spanos' outfit were not planned, but don't we looked fab in our Trina Turk dresses from Rosenblum's?
And if don't want to miss our next exciting event, be sure to visit our Events Calendar for our upcoming shows in April.

Sunisha Designs Team
New to the Team
Meet Andrea Marshall, our new Assistant Designer who recently joined us in February. While she has an awesome eye for color and pattern, she has a resume that anyone would want! She loves dabbling on the sewing machine and her "What do you think of this?" ideas are the fresh element we needed for 2009. Lookout for her designs in our upcoming product launches. We are so excited to have her join our team.
Job Opportunity
We are always growing and looking for great talent. We are currently looking for P/T seamstresses to assist us with our growing handbag line of products. You may either sew from the convenience of your home or right here in our studio. Hours are very flexible but all deadlines given must be met. And of course, excellent workmanship is a must. Please let us know if you are interested by calling 904-708-2656.
Testimonial of the Month
As a harried mother of two young children, my most prized Sunisha Designs bag is my beautiful diaper bag. Most people wouldn't characterize their diaper bag as beautiful, but mine is: rich, chocolate brown with beautiful white stitching on it. As beautiful as it is on the outside, the inside has got to be practical. Mine is! It's roomy and has several pockets for diapers, wipes, bottles, and any little thing my children may need. Now, despite my practicality as a mother, there's the "girly" side to me, too. That's why I own two Sunisha Designs purses and one very fun make-up bag. It is made of pink felt with a whimsical pattern of "girly" items, and is big enough to hold all of my essentials. My purses include one that's got the most beautiful turquoise and orange pattern, with a bamboo handle. And the second purse is a simple black and white clutch with a
beautiful white leather flower on it. I would definitely purchase a Sunisha Designs purse again! You can't go wrong with such beautiful fabrics and fabulous designs at your disposal, and you REALLY can't go wrong if you design it yourself!

The Mom-treprenuer Corner
"Reach high! Think Big! Work Hard! Have Fun!" While you may think these are phrases from a catchy sales seminar, they are actually from my daughter's favorite show, The Imagination Movers
. The show focuses on four guys - Rich, Dave, Smitty and Scott who have their own business as problem solvers. They are always hoping the phone will ring or a new customer will knock on their door each time they arrive for work. They love problems because "solving problems is what we do best!" they say. And they have "idea emergencies" and brainstorm to get different solutions. It reminds me of what each of us parents, business owners, employees and the like do on a daily basis. I get inspired by each show (which we have watched so many times, we've memorized each one) and it helps me remember to be positive in my approach to everything. If you have a chance to watch it, catch at least an episode or two. It's funny, entertaining and I assure you, you will be singing these phrases every morning!
On A Personal Note
Since November 16th, my life has been quite a delicate balance of happiness and hurt. It was on that evening that I received a phonecall from my sister Smita that my father had a massive heart attack. Within 48 hours, my mother had a heart attack the next day. I was on the next flight out on Tuesday. Since then, much has happened. My mummy had her bypass surgery but my pappa was not so lucky. He suffered from brain damage due to the lapse of oxygen to his brain and as a result, has good days and bad. But ever the optimist, he is already walking with help, reading the daily paper and asks about Saloni and Sohan all the time. Which brings me to the happiness part. Sohan is almost 10 months old and is crawling at the speed of at least 50 miles an hour! He is the cutest thing to wake up to and already knows how to greet everyone with a happy wave and smile. Meanwhile, Saloni is 3 1/2
going on 16. Her vocabulary and personality really make us forget that she's a toddler. And oh, let me add that she loves the Jonas Brothers and wants a drum set because Rich, her favorite Imagination Mover on the tv show plays on one. Here's hoping that one day, my parents will back visiting in Jacksonville to hear my kiddies laugh, dance and play. It hurts to be far away from them, but it makes me happy that they are together. At home. This photo was taken when my parents came to visit us last October...thank goodness for happy times. Those memories help us get through the tougher times.
We would love to see you at our Home Studio & Boutique. Morning, evening, weekend or daytime appointments are welcome. Coffee, tea and something sweet are always on the house.
Sincerely,
